Casa Conect for Word is distributed as an add-in manifest: a small file that tells Word where the add-in lives. Your Microsoft 365 administrator can deploy it to everyone at once, which is the recommended route, or an individual can add it to a single computer.
Ask support@casaconect.ai for the current manifest file. You need an active Casa Conect OS subscription to use the add-in.

Before you start

  • A supported version of Word. See Where it runs.
  • A Casa Conect account in an organization with Casa Conect OS.
  • For organization-wide deployment, a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator or Exchange Administrator.
Centralized deployment puts the Casa Conect button on everyone’s Home tab. Users install nothing, and updates arrive automatically.
1

Open Integrated apps

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings → Integrated apps and choose Upload custom apps.
2

Upload the manifest

Choose Office Add-in as the app type, then Upload manifest file (.xml) from device, and select the Casa Conect manifest. Microsoft validates it on upload.
3

Choose who gets it

Assign it to Everyone, to specific users or groups, or to just yourself to try it first.
4

Accept the permission request and deploy

The add-in requests read and write access to the current document. Review this, then choose Finish deployment.
5

Wait for it to appear

Microsoft says an add-in can take up to 24 hours to appear for all users, although it is usually much quicker. Restarting Word helps.

Add it to one computer

  1. Open a document in Word on the web.
  2. Choose Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins → My Add-ins → Upload My Add-in.
  3. Select the manifest file and choose Upload.

1

Open the panel

On the Home tab, choose Casa Conect. The panel opens with Welcome to Casa Conect.
2

Choose Sign in

A dialog opens with your normal Casa Conect sign-in. Enter your email address and the code you receive, and your authenticator code if you use one.
3

Return to Word

When the dialog says “Signed in. You can close this window.”, it closes and the panel is ready.

Troubleshooting

Your copy of Office cannot verify where the sign-in dialog’s messages come from, so the add-in refuses to continue rather than accept a sign-in it cannot trust. Update Office and try again.
The dialog was closed before it finished, or a pop-up blocker interfered. Choose Sign in again. On Word on the web, allow pop-ups for the page.
If it was deployed centrally, wait, then restart Word. Check with your administrator that you are included in the assignment. On an iPad the add-in is not available.
Your network may block the add-in’s address. Ask your IT team to allow the Casa Conect hosts and the sign-in provider. Support can supply the list.

Remove the add-in

  • Centrally deployed: an administrator removes it under Integrated apps.
  • Added to one computer: remove it from My Add-ins, or delete the manifest from the wef folder on a Mac.
Removing the add-in deletes nothing in Casa Conect. To end the add-in’s access to your account, sign out from the panel’s menu, or end its session under Settings → Security → Sessions.
