Tracked changes are the contract between you and the agent. The agent proposes, and you decide. They are also how lawyers already work with each other, so Casa Conect’s tracked changes are built to be the same changes Word shows. They are not a lookalike that falls apart when the file leaves the platform.

Where they come from

Text the agent writes into a brand-new document is not tracked, because there is nothing to compare it with. Your own typing in the editor is not tracked either. To exchange redlines with a colleague or the other side, work in Word, where Track Changes is available to everyone.

Review in the editor

While suggestions are pending, a review bar shows how many there are.

Read each change in context

Select a suggestion to see who made it. Read deletions as carefully as insertions. A removed “not” is a small change with a large effect.

Accept or reject

Resolve suggestions one at a time, or use Accept all or Reject all once you have read them.

Carry on

Resolving is an ordinary edit. Colleagues see it at once, and it is part of the document’s history.
Accept all is convenient, and it is also how an unwanted change gets through. Use it after reading, not instead of reading.

In the viewer

A Word file with tracked changes shows a Tracked changes panel in the viewer, so you can resolve changes without converting the file.
  • Step through with Previous change and Next change.
  • Each entry shows its type (Inserted, Deleted, Moved from here, Moved to here or Formatting change) and its author.
  • Accept change or Reject change individually, or use Accept all or Reject all.
  • The result is saved as a new version: “Changes applied — saved as a new version.” The earlier version stays in the history, labelled Changes resolved.
Some changes cannot be listed individually: those inside headers, footers, footnotes and pure formatting. The panel tells you how many there are, and Accept all and Reject all resolve them as well. If the file changed after you opened it, because a colleague saved a newer version, your action is refused rather than applied to content you have not seen. Reopen the file and review again.

In Microsoft Word

With the Word add-in, the agent’s edits are applied to your open document as native Word tracked changes. You review them with Word’s own Review tab, exactly like a colleague’s redline. Casa Conect switches Track Changes on while it applies the edits, and restores your previous setting afterwards.

Across the Word boundary

Attribution is kept as names. A change made by “María López” in Word is shown as María López’s in Casa Conect, and the other way round. Imported authors are not matched to Casa Conect accounts. A few unusual constructions are simplified. For example, a tracked move that cannot be rebuilt exactly becomes a linked deletion and insertion. You are always told when this happens.
