# Summary

> The agreed facts of a transaction in one place, entered by the parties or extracted from the documents by AI, with a citation for every AI value.

Every transaction rests on a set of facts: who the parties are, what the property is, the price, the dates, the charges against it. The **Summary** tab holds them in one place, so that nobody has to hunt through documents or compare versions of a spreadsheet.

## How it is organized

| Level        | Example                                                    |
| :----------- | :--------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Category** | *Property*, *Parties*, *Price and payment* |
| **Table** | Groups related fields within a category |
| **Field** | *Cadastral reference*, *Purchase price*, *Completion date* |
| **Value** | The answer, with its **source** |

Categories are arranged in columns, and can be dragged into a different order. Only **admins and team leaders** can create and reorder categories and fields.

## Where values come from

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="People" icon="user">
    Anyone with **editor** access to a category can type a value. Recipients of a [share link](/shared-spaces/share-links) with Edit capability fill the fields in as a questionnaire.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Documents, by AI" icon="sparkles">
    When you add or change a field, Casa Conect looks for the answer in the space's documents. It also writes a short description of the field, to guide the search.

### Reviewing AI values

A value found by AI arrives as a **suggestion**. It is not a fact of the transaction until a person accepts it.

| Origin                  | Meaning                                                                         |
| :---------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Entered by a person** | Typed by a member or a link recipient |
| **AI, pending** | Suggested from the documents, and waiting for an editor to accept or replace it |
| **AI, accepted** | A suggestion that an editor confirmed |

Every AI value carries a **citation**: a numbered marker that opens a preview of the source document with the relevant passage highlighted, and an **Open in file viewer** button. Check the citation before you accept the value.

<Warning>
  AI extraction is an aid to your review, not a substitute for it. A misread digit in a cadastral reference, or a price taken from an earlier draft, looks just as confident as a correct value. Accept a value only after you have checked its source.
</Warning>

## Access

Each **category** has its own access list, granted to a team or to a member as **viewer** or **editor**.

* A category must always keep **at least one editor**. Casa Conect will not let you remove the last one. A person who is the only editor of a category must **transfer editor access** before leaving the space.
* **Access to a value also depends on access to its source.** If a value was derived from a document you cannot see, the value is locked for you: *"You don't have access to every document this value was derived from. Ask for reading permission on the cited documents to view it."* This stops the Summary from leaking the contents of a restricted document.

## Tips

* **Name fields precisely.** *"Purchase price (EUR, excluding tax)"* produces a better extraction than *"Price"*.
* **Upload the documents first.** Extraction can only find what is in the space.
* **Use a share link to collect answers** from a party who has no account. The fields become a short form, and their answers save automatically.
