# Languages

> Casa Conect works in English and Spanish: the interface, the agent, search, email, and automatic translation inside Shared Spaces.

Property transactions in Spain routinely involve people who do not share a language. Casa Conect is built for that.

## Change your language

Go to **Settings → Account → Language** and choose **English** or **Español**.

Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every browser and device.

## What works in both languages

|                   | English and Spanish                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     |
| :---------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **The interface** | The dashboard, the Word add-in and the pages behind share links |
| **The agent** | Write to it in either language, or mix them. It answers in the language you use, and it can be asked to draft in the other. Put standing preferences in your [guidance](/agent/guidance): *"Write to clients in English unless they wrote in Spanish."* |
| **Search** | Every search runs against both languages at once, so a Spanish question finds an English contract, and the reverse. Stemming and accents are handled for each language. See [Search](/documents/search#spanish-and-english). |
| **Documents** | The agent reads and drafts documents in either language. [Anonymize](/workflows/anonymize) writes its placeholders in the language of the document. |
| **Email** | Invitations and share links are sent in the language you choose for each recipient |

## Automatic translation in Shared Spaces

In a Shared Space, the short texts that people enter are **translated automatically**, so each person reads the space in their own language. This covers the names and descriptions of **teams**, **document types**, **categories**, **sections**, **summary fields** and **appointments**, as well as **review comments**.

A globe icon beside a field indicates that *Casa Conect will automatically translate this value*. Write naturally in your own language, and other people see it in theirs.

<Note>
  **Documents are not translated.** A contract uploaded in Spanish stays in Spanish. With Casa Conect OS you can ask the agent for a translation or a summary in another language. Treat that as a working aid, not as a certified translation.
</Note>

## Writing with the agent across languages

* **Say which language you want the output in** whenever it differs from the language of your message.
* **Legal terms of art do not always translate.** Tell the agent to keep *arras*, *nota simple* or *escritura* in Spanish inside an English text, if that is your practice, and record it in your guidance.
* **Check the register.** Spanish notarial language and an English email to a client call for very different tones. A [skill](/agent/skills) for each is worth writing.
